The hot, sticky, sweaty, humid, salty summer has been hard on your body. For your sunbathing pool-loving friends, it has been great. But for you, the runner, the summer has not been your friend. You have been waiting for cooler weather – any cooler weather, rather impatiently, I may add – especially after the last couple of years!
Fall Running to Me….
The cooler weather brings back memories of high school cross country meets for me. Running on trails between many-colored leafed trees … Wearing that light sweatshirt and getting that minor chill before your run starts….. There are days when the leaves are so thick and wet that you need to be careful not to slip – the smell of those leaves in big piles around you as you run. Soon Thanksgiving rolls around, bringing about a round of even cooler weather and more fun holiday “Turkey Trot” races. The winter draws nearer and nearer and the season is soon over.
What are your Fall running memories?
Was this when you ran your first race? Your first marathon? Did you also run cross country as a teen years ago?
Whatever the reasons are, the season is here and we will get through it together……
Trials of Miles,
Coach Nick
